No mystery maths

A little clarity, by the kilowatt.

Your electricity unit price and how much energy you use determine the running cost. WattPeek makes that calculation visible.

(watts ÷ 1,000) × hours × price per kWh

Example: 1,000W × 2 hours at 0.25 per kWh = 0.50 per day. This is an illustration, not a current tariff.

Fixed daily charges are excluded. Average power, active time, taxes, tariff tiers and time-of-use rates can affect your actual bill. For variable rates, calculate each rate period separately.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my electricity price?

Look for the unit price per kWh on your bill or supplier account. Enter it in whole currency units, including applicable per-unit taxes. Do not enter your monthly bill or fixed standing charge.

Are the appliance presets accurate?

Presets are illustrative starting values, not measured averages or manufacturer specifications. Actual draw varies. Use your manual, energy label or a plug-in meter to replace them.

What if an appliance switches on and off?

Use average measured power with active time at 100%, or use measured kWh. If you know the duty cycle, you can instead enter its on-state power and active-time percentage. Do not reduce both.

Is WattPeek really free?

Yes. All calculator features work without payment or an account. There are no paid APIs or subscriptions. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate visit and performance statistics; see our privacy page.

Do you collect my calculations?

No calculations are sent to a server by the app. The appliance list uses browser storage. A shared link contains its calculation inputs, so only send it to people you want to see them.
