Dishwasher Cost per Cycle Calculator

Use the electricity consumed by one dishwasher cycle to estimate cost per load and the total for your own number of loads.

Open calculator with example inputs ↗

Choose your own country average or enter your bill’s unit price. Example inputs are editable, not measured averages.

A worked example

An illustrative 0.8 kWh cycle at 0.25 per kWh costs 0.20. Twenty cycles cost 4.00 in electricity. Water, detergent and other non-electricity charges are excluded.

All example prices are illustrative currency units, not live tariffs. Fixed charges are excluded.

Find the right energy input

Check the selected programme’s kWh or measure a full cycle. If the label shows kWh per 100 cycles, divide by 100. Do not treat an annual energy figure as a per-cycle figure.

Get a useful estimate

Choose Measured kWh, enter one cycle’s energy, and set days / sessions to the desired number of loads. Month and Year projections assume one cycle every day. Compare programmes using their full-cycle energy, not just duration.

Keep your household together

After calculating, select Add appliance to my household. Use matching periods and the same currency when comparing devices. Your saved list stays in this browser.
