Fridge Electricity Cost Calculator

A fridge runs throughout the day, but its compressor does not necessarily draw full power continuously. Use measured daily kWh or the annual energy figure on your model’s label.

Choose your own country average or enter your bill’s unit price. Example inputs are editable, not measured averages.

A worked example

If a label says 365 kWh per year, divide by 365 to get an illustrative 1 kWh per day. At 0.25 per kWh, that is 0.25 per day, 7.50 for 30 days and 91.25 for 365 days.

All example prices are illustrative currency units, not live tariffs. Fixed charges are excluded.

Find the right energy input

Measure over several representative days, including normal door opening. Divide the total measured kWh by the number of days. Do not multiply an already measured daily energy value by 24.

Get a useful estimate

Annual label figures use test conditions. Room temperature, settings, door opening and the appliance’s condition can change actual use.
