Air fryer electricity cost calculator
An air fryer’s running cost depends on input power, cooking duration, preheating and heating cycles. A shorter cooking time can matter as much as the wattage. Compare the same meal and number of portions.
Calculate air fryer costs ↗Start with your actual usage
- Include preheating in your total minutes.
- Multiple batches add up; calculate the full cooking session.
- For a measured comparison, use kWh from a plug-in meter for each appliance.
A worked example
The following uses an illustrative rate of 0.25 currency units per kWh. It is not a current country tariff or a measured average for this appliance.
| Input / result | Example |
|---|---|
| Average input power | 1500 W |
| Daily use | 0.5 hours |
| Energy per day | 0.75 kWh |
| Cost per day | 0.19 currency units |
| Cost for 30 days | 5.63 currency units |
What this estimate leaves out
1500W for 30 minutes is an example at continuous draw. Heating elements usually cycle during cooking. Fixed charges are excluded. Time-of-use rates and tiered pricing need separate calculations. Annual results assume the same daily use for all 365 days, which can overstate seasonal appliance use.
How to calculate it yourself
watts ÷ 1,000 × hours × price per kWhIf you already know the energy used, multiply measured kWh directly by your unit price. See the full methodology.
